Sony Ericsson P900
The Sony Ericsson P900 is the sleeker,
sexier replacement for the popular P800 combined PDA/mobile
phone.
The first thing to notice is the large 320x208 pixel
display, which is touch sensitive. Then there's the
keypad which can be pushed right out of the way to allow
the Sony Ericsson P900 to be used as a PDA - flip it
back, and it's a phone again!
The P900 takes the
Memory Stick Duo expansion card, with 32Mb
as standard, upgradeable to 128Mb. The P900
also has an inbuilt VGA resolution (640x480
pixel) camera which is capable of taking
video clips.
It's not a small phone, but
the Sony Ericsson P900 does have excellent
battery life, with a maximum of 16 hours
talk time and 20 days standby. The large
screen on the P900 makes it ideal for organising
data, appointments and contacts. The P900's PDA functions run on the
Symbian OS, to give maximum performance
from a mobile device.
The big screen and powerful processor
on the P900 make it a terridic
games platform too. The screen has 80% more
pixels than the Nokia N-Gage offering better
gameplay. Plus it plays MP3s and other audio
formats, and with 128Mb
memory sticks that should squeeze two full
CDs into the P900.
Don't forget that the Sony Ericsson P900 is also a
mobile
phone! With tri-band GSM it can be used
pretty much anywhere in the world.
Sending text messages is easy, and supported by predictive
text input. Plus there's all the usual features
you'd expect from a top-notch phone like polyphonics.
All in all, the Sony Ericsson P900 is
a good all-round phone, and does a great
job at combining a mobile phone, PDA,
handheld games console, MP3 player and
digital camera in one device.
